EBT4 Ball Cube 2 Film
We get EBT3 film from Ashland for e2e testing. Ashland has transitioned to manufacturing EBT4 film and EBT3 film availability will be limited in the future. We tried some tests with EBT4 film recently (skull tracking with MLC and fiducial tracking with fixed collimator) using EBT4 and the resulting targeting error was around 1mm. We expect to see result closer to 0.5mm for those tests. Are there any EBT4 users who can share some info about switching to EBT4? Are there quirks, is it sensitive to the scanner you use? (We use an Epson 10000XL which is pretty old.) Accuray physics support says they have not tested EBT4 film. Thanks.

hello! We are about to receive the new batches of ball cube 2 so I still can’t help you. But if you still has at least one pair of the EBT3, I’d try to irradiate the same E2E sequentially in order to compare the results. It doesn’t seem obvious to me that by changing from EBT3 to EBT4 would cause that difference.
As it’s been a while since your post, do you have any conclusion about this, to share with us? Thank you in advance.
